Create and Manage Ordinances and Resolutions

Create an Ordinance or Resolution

  1. Sign In to Your Site

  2. Expand Create Other
    Create Other button below the Dashboard header.

  3. Click Create Ordinance/Resolution The button labeled Created Ordinance slash Resolution.

  4. Enter a Title The text entry field with the Title header.

  5. Select whether the page is for an Ordinance or Resolution The button labeled Ordinance and the button labeled Resolution under the Ordinance slash Resolution header.

  6. Complete the rest of the Title and Details fields

  7. Select the ID and Status tab The left-hand navigation tab labeled ID and Status.

  8. Complete the ID and Status options

  9. Select the Summary tab Summary tab in the Create and Ordinance or Resolution's navigation menu.

  10. Enter a detailed summary of the Ordinance or Resolution The text entry field labeled Summary.

  11. Select the Dates tab The left-hand navigation tab labeled Dates.

  12. Complete the Date fields

  13. Add a File or Files, if desired

  14. Publish the Ordinance or Resolution, if desired

  15. Click Save

Edit an Ordinance or Resolution

  1. Sign In to Your Site

  2. Navigate to the desired page

  3. Click Edit The Edit button in the bottom left corner, to the right of the View button.

  4. Make the necessary edits

  5. Select the Advanced tab The last left-hand navigation tab labeled Advanced.

  6. Detail any edits made in the Revision log The text entry field labeled Revision log message.

  7. Publish or Unpublish the Ordinance or Resolution to publish any changes

  8. Click Save

Copy an Ordinance or Resolution

  1. Sign In to Your Site

  2. Navigate to the desired page

  3. Click Clone The Clone button in the bottom left corner of the page, to the right of the View, Edit, and Revisions buttons.

  4. Make any edits as necessary

  5. Publish the Ordinance or Resolution, if desired

  6. Click Save

View Ordinance or Resolution Page Revisions

  1. Sign In to Your Site

  2. Navigate to the desired page

  3. Click Revisions The Revisions button in the bottom left corner, to the right of the View and Edit buttons.

  4. View the list of previous revisions

Revert an Ordinance or Resolution Page to a Previous Version

  1. Sign In to Your Site

  2. Sign In to Your Site

  3. Navigate to the desired page

  4. Click Revisions  The Revisions button in the bottom left corner, to the right of the View and Edit buttons.

  5. Select Revert to revert the Event page to a previous version The Revert button on the right-hand side of the screen, in the Operations column.

  6. Select Revert to confirm the revision The large Revert button to the left of the Cancel button.

Publish or Unpublish an Ordinance or Resolution

  1. Sign In to Your Site

  2. Navigate to the desired page

  3. Click Edit The Edit button in the bottom left corner, to the right of the View button.

  4. Select the Publishing tab The left-hand navigation tab labeled Publishing.

  5. Complete the Publishing options The Published toggle, Publish on, and Unpublish on options found in the Publishing tab.

    • Published: Check or uncheck the box to publish or unpublish, respectively

    • Publish On: Select a date and time to publish the event at a later date

    • Unpublish On: Select a date and time to automatically unpublish the event

  6. Click Save

Delete an Ordinance or Resolution

Important Note

Only Site Administrators can perform this function. This action cannot be undone.

Instructions

  1. Sign In to Your Site

  2. Navigate to the desired page

  3. Click Delete

  4. Click Delete to confirm the deletion

    Note:

    This action cannot be undone

Title and Details Fields

The Title, Ordinance slash Resolution, and Details fields found in the Title and Details tab.

  • Title: Enter a title for the Ordinance or Resolution

  • Ordinance/Resolution: Click the appropriate button

  • Summary: Enter a summary of the Ordinance or Resolution The text entry field labeled Summary.

    Note:

    This field only appears if you click Edit Summary
    The URL labeled Edit Summary.

  • Details: Enter the contents of the Ordinance or Resolution

ID and Status Options

The options found in the ID and Status Options tab.

  • Ordinance/Resolution ID: Enter the ID number of the Ordinance or Resolution

  • Ordinance/Resolution Status (required): Select the appropriate status of the Ordinance or Resolution

    • Adopted: The Ordinance or Resolution has been adopted

    • Awaiting Decision: The Ordinance or Resolution is awaiting a decision

    • Failed: The Ordinance or Resolution failed

    • Postponed: The Ordinance or Resolution has been postponed to a later date

    • Pulled: The Ordinance or Resolution was pulled

    • Reconsidered: The Ordinance or Resolution is being reconsidered

    • Rescinded: The Ordinance or Resolution has been rescinded

Date Fields

The Introduction Date, Postponed Until, Public Hearing Date, and Adopted Date fields.

  • Introduction Date: The date the Ordinance or Resolution was introduced in month, day, and year format

  • Postponed Until: The date the Ordinance or Resolution is postponed to in month, day, and year format

  • Public Hearing Date: The public hearing date of the Ordinance or Resolution in month, day, and year format

  • Adopted Date: The date the Ordinance or Resolution is adopted in month, day, and year format
