Important Notes:
Automatic translation applies to the mobile apps. It does not translate content in the web portal or SeeClickFix 311 CRM.
Available languages depend on the resident’s device, operating system, region, and translation service.
Translations may not be exact.
Translated content is displayed in the resident’s device language. The original content remains unchanged.
Automatic translation is available in SeeClickFix mobile apps running version 7.0.0 or later on iOS and version 7.11.1 or later on Android. Availability for individual Marketplace apps depends on each app’s release schedule.
Automatic translation helps residents understand organization-configured and user-generated content by displaying it in their device language. This complements the existing translation of App navigation and controls.
For eligible Marketplace mobile apps, Organization Owners can control automatic translation through Organization Settings.
Container App Availability
Automatic translation is enabled automatically in the standard SeeClickFix 311 CRM mobile app (Container app). Organizations represented in this app do not need to enable the Marketplace organization setting or make other configuration changes.
Residents using a supported non-English device language will see applicable content translated when translation is available on their device. The supported-language, device-requirement, resident-notice, accuracy, and troubleshooting guidance in this article also applies to the Container app.
Marketplace Mobile App Rollout
Eligible Marketplace mobile app organizations can turn on automatic translation now through Organization Settings.
Starting September 30, 2026, CivicPlus will enable automatic translation for eligible organizations unless they have opted out. It will also be enabled by default for newly launched eligible Marketplace apps from that date forward.
To opt out of the scheduled enablement, contact CivicPlus Support before September 30. Organization Owners can turn automatic translation on or off at any time through Organization Settings.
For Marketplace apps running a supported version, changes to this setting take effect without requiring the app to be republished.
Manage Automatic Translation in a Marketplace Mobile App
Who can use this feature?
Organization Owners whose organization has an eligible Marketplace mobile app.
Open the Profile menu
Click Manage Organization
Click the Settings tab
Select Enable automatic translations for Marketplace mobile app content
Note:
To disable automatic translations, clear the selection.
Click Save Organization Settings
Note:
If this setting does not appear, your organization may not have the required Marketplace mobile app access.
How Translation Works for Residents
When translation is available and a resident uses a supported non-English device language, the app translates applicable content into that language.
This can include:
Mobile app home content and Notices
Request categories and questions
Request descriptions
Comments
Other organization-configured or user-generated content
The first time automatic translation is eligible, the resident sees a Translation is On message explaining that the device’s translation service is being used and that translations may not be exact. The resident can select Continue or open Device Language Settings.
The app does not include a separate language selector. The resident’s SeeClickFix profile language does not control mobile translation.
Supported Languages
The mobile app interface is localized separately from automatic content translation. See Language Preferences for the languages available for navigation, buttons, and other fixed app content.
Automatic translation of request categories, questions, descriptions, comments, Notices, and other organization-configured or user-generated content depends on the resident’s device and operating system.
Note:
If the resident’s device language is not supported or the required language resources are unavailable, the app displays the original content.
iOS Supported Languages
On current iOS versions, Apple supports Arabic, Dutch, French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin Chinese for China mainland and Taiwan, Polish, Portuguese for Brazil, Russian, Spanish, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese.

Device Requirements
iOS Requirements
iOS 18 or later is required.
The Apple Translate app must be installed.
For the most reliable translation experience, download both English and the resident’s selected device language. On supported devices, Apple may provide translation without separately downloaded languages, but translation can take longer to become available.
Android Requirements
The required translation language model may need to be downloaded the first time a language is used. An internet connection may be required for this initial download. Translation is then performed on the device.
Troubleshooting
Translation Is Delayed on iPhone
The device’s translation service may need additional time to become ready when translation first starts. If the app has not displayed a Translation Unavailable message, keep the app open for up to one minute to allow the translated content to load.
If content remains untranslated after one minute, close and reopen the SeeClickFix mobile app. If the app displays Translation Unavailable, follow the language-download steps in the next section.
Translation Unavailable on iPhone
If the app displays a Translation Unavailable message, the required languages may not be installed. Download both English and the language selected for the device, then close and reopen SeeClickFix 311 CRM:
Open the iPhone Settings app
Select Apps
Select Translate
Select Languages
Download both English and the language selected for the device; confirm that both appear under Available Offline
Close and reopen the SeeClickFix mobile app
You do not need to enable On-Device Mode.
Apple provides additional instructions in Change your Translate settings on iPhone. If translation remains unavailable, confirm that the device meets the iOS requirements listed above and that the SeeClickFix mobile app is up to date.
