Re-Categorization Analysis

Prev Next

To review which requests have been recategorized, you can pull a data export. This article will show you how to export data and distinguish if an item has been recategorized.

Instructions

  1. Sign in to your site

  2. Click on the Requests tabRequests tab.

  3. Filter the data on the left column to the set of requests you want to analyze; for example, if you want to look at requests in a specific category for all time, make sure you select the category and all statuses Open, Acknowledged, Closed, and ArchivedRequest filters.

    Note:

Save or Clear this set of filters by selecting Save or Clear at the bottom of the column.

    Save or Clear Filters buttons.

  4. Click the export icon in the top right cornerExport icon.

  5. Select which file type you want to download and click ContinueFile type selection and Continue button.

  6. Open the fileDownloaded file.

  7. Once you have downloaded the report, compare column E "Summary" with column AB "Category"; if something has been recategorized, these two things won't matchColumn E, summary. Column AB, category.

    Note:

Summary is an older field that is also known as the title of the request. This is generally auto-populated when a requester submits an issue. The Category is the true request category that the request is tied to at the time of export.

  8. Another way to review this information is to search for the term Recategorized in the left-side filter column in the Requests list; the full-text search will find the matching requests because that is used in the standard recategorization messageRecategorize button.

    Note:

Using this method, you might get all false positives along with that if someone used that term in a comment or description, for example.
