Change a Folder's Permissions

Important Note

Any document published in the Document Center can be found by adding /DocumentCenter to the end of your Web Central site’s URL. This is accessible to the public by default, and will show in search results. To exclude these items from search, you must hide the folder or document from public view.

Instructions

  1. Sign in to your site

  2. Navigate to Modules and on the Content tab, select Document CenterModules menu, Document Center.

  3. Select the folder that you need to change permissions for Select folder.

  4. Select Modify FolderModify folder.

  5. Scroll to Permissions and change permissions for the relevant groups Change permissions.

    • V (View): Can see documents, cannot edit

    • A (Authors): Can edit and create documents, cannot documents

    • P (Publisher): Can edit, create, and publish documents, cannot create sub-folders

    • O (Owner): Has full rights to a group

  6. Click Save Save folder.

    Note:

    Only select Save and Push Down if you want these permissions to apply to all subfolders. Save and Push Down will not appear if you do not have subfolders.
