This article will show you how to copy an item from the Archive Center. You may want to copy an item if you want the same item in two categories.

Who can use this feature?

System Administrator | Owner | Publisher | Author

Instructions

  1. Sign in to your site.

  2. Navigate to Modules and on the Content tab, select Archive Center:

Navigation menu highlighting the Archive Center in the Municipal Websites Central interface.

  3. Select the category that contains the item you want to copy:

Archive Center displaying published content including agendas, city budget, and minutes.

  4. Navigate to the item you want to copy. Click Choose an Action and then select Copy:

City budget archive interface showing published and unpublished items with a highlighted Copy option.

  5. Fill out fields for your copied item:

The City budget archive page displays landscaping project budget details and file upload options.

    • Archive Category: Choose what category to place the item in

    • Display Name (required): Name the item

    • Archive Date (required): The date the archive or publication was created. The system sorts items by this date

    • Description: Brief description of the item

    • Start Display: Enter a start display date to auto-publish the category. Leave blank to publish immediately after you save

    • End Display: Enter an end display date to auto-unpublish. Leave this blank if there is no end date. If left blank, the item must be unpublished manually

    • Opens In: Determines if the item will open in a new window

      Note:
We recommend that archived items open in a new window.

    • Show Archives: Keep the default setting, Yes

    • File Upload & Convert to PDF: Options are unavailable

      Note:
You must save before you can use these options. View our article, Add a File to an Item in Archive Center, for more information. After saving, only TXT, DOC, DOCX, HTML, HTM, XLS, or XLSX files can be converted to PDF.

    • Online Editor: Opens an online editor to create or edit content directly instead of uploading a file. This option only becomes available after saving.

  6. Click Save or Save and Publish at the top of the page:

Archive Center interface showing highlighted options to Save or Save and Publish a city budget item.

    • Save: Saves the work. Does not make it publicly viewable

    • Save and Publish: Saves the work and publishes it to the public. This option is not available if the item is already published
