The Related Documents widget creates a dynamic list of documents referenced in the Document Center.

Add a Related Documents Widget to Your Page

After completing these steps, it may take up to 24 hours to see #Ref change from zero.

Who can use this feature?

System Administrator | Owner | Publisher | Author  

  1. Log in to your site and navigate to your desired page

  2. Ensure that Live Edit Is On

  3. Select the Widgets tab The Widgets tab on the page management menu.

  4. Drag and drop the Related Documents widget to your page The Related Documents card on the Content widgets tab.

  5. Fill in Widget options fields  Widget options menu for related documents.

    • Widget Skin: Select the appearance style of the widget

    • Heading: Create a heading/title for the widget

    • Columns: Select how many columns to use. There is a maximum of three columns to use.

    • Sort Order: Choose how to sort the documents

      • Alphabetically: From A to Z, From Z to A

      • Most Recently Modified: Newer to older

      • Least Recently Modified: Older to newer

      • Manual: Custom manual order of documents. You can only sort documents within a section; they cannot be moved from one section to another.

    • Advanced - Widget Breakpoint: Width at which the widget will switch from narrow to wide view

  6. Click the X to exit the Widget options pop-up The X icon in the top right corner of the widget options menu.


Link Documents with the Related Documents Widget

  1. Add a Related Documents widget to your page

  2. Select + Click here to select and add documents, or drag and drop files from your computer to link documents to the page that are already on your site Link to select and add documents to the widget.

    Note: To add documents straight from your computer, just drag and drop the files into the Related Documents widget. Those files will be added to the "DragAndDropFiles" folder in your Document Center module. This folder has its Guest view permissions removed by default so you will need to manually adjust permissions, as needed.

  3. Select the folder that contains the document you want to link to Related documents widget folders.

    Note: To easily locate a document, you can Search for Display Name or ID. You can still select multiple images at a time, even if you search for different images. The widget will remember all the images you check throughout your search session.Search box in the related documents widget.

  4. Check the document(s) you want to connect to the page Select files in the Related Documents widget.

    Note: To select all documents, check the top left box. You can also select document from multiple folders.

  5. Click Insert Marked Insert Marked button in the top right corner of the Related Documents widget.

  6. Document(s) will appear in the widget Documents added to the related documents widget.

  7. Select + Click here.... to add more documents Link to select and add additional documents to the widget.

  8. Select + Add another section to create another section, in the same widget Add another section link on the Related Documents widget.

  9. Select Save The Save button in the top right corner of the page.


Add an Entire Document Folder to a Page

  1. Log in to your site and navigate to your desired page

  2. Turn on Live EditThe Administrative User bar with Live Edit toggled to ON.

  3. Select Click here to select and add documents, or drag and drop files from your computerLink to select and add documents to the widget.

    Note: If needed, add a Related Documents widget to the page.

  4. Locate the desired folder Related documents widget folders.

  5. Check Select Folder (contents of the widget will be populated dynamically)Select Folder checkbox at the top of the widget forder.

  6. Select Insert MarkedInsert Marked button in the top right corner of the Related Documents widget.

  7. View folder contents in the widget Documents added to the related documents widget.

  8. Select Save The Save button in the top right corner of the page.
